The Writing Lab: Middle (Grades 6 to 8)
A creative and supportive writing workshop designed to help students grow their skills, strengthen their voice, and enjoy the writing process. This class blends weekly lessons, hands on practice, group collaboration, and ongoing writing support throughout the week.
Meets for six Thursdays:
January 15, 22, 29
February 5, 12, 19
Time: 9:30 to 10:30 AM
Location: Kronenwetter, Wisconsin off of Hwy 51. Address provided after registration.
What Students Will Do
Complete daily creative writing exercises at home to build consistent habits
Join a weekly one hour class that includes a short lesson, guided writing, sharing, and feedback
Learn key elements of storytelling such as character, setting, structure, and voice
Practice editing and revising their work in a way that feels doable and clear
Participate in group sharing and positive peer review
Receive optional writing help or feedback from Laura throughout the week
Create a final story for a published online class collection
What Is Included
Six one hour small group classes
Ongoing writing support between sessions as needed
A free copy of my Creative Writing Workbook for each enrolled student

Creative Writing Workbook provided on the first day of class
Class Format
This workshop builds confidence and independence by giving students both structure and choice. Students write during the week, develop ideas on their own time, and then meet together to share, revise, publish, and learn new skills. The structure works well for motivated writers and for students who benefit from gentle accountability.
Optional Documentation for Families
Grades or completion certificates are available on request.
Price
$55 per student for the full six week session.
The price includes a free copy of the Creative Writing Workbook.
Payment is due at sign up.
Refund Policy
Full refunds are available up to one week before the first class.
If the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, all families will receive a full refund.
